Description
This made-to-order handmade besom (broom) is intended to aid in bringing in an uplifting energy into one’s space. Hang your sacred item on the wall, or lay it in a special spot in your home. The five items present on this besom—orange, cinnamon, star anise, Ponderosa Pine, and Alligator Juniper form a symbolic blend of warmth, light, protection, and endurance against the darkness.
Length: 6 inches
Orange symbolizes the sun and creativity, while bringing positivity, prosperity, and joy into the home. Their bright color and scent are used to uplift spirits.
Cinnamon is said to represent the “hearth flame.” It provides spiritual protection, guarding the home against negativity while bringing in a high vibrational energy.
Star anise is often paired with orange slices in decorations to amplify their protective, “light-calling” energy. The star shape represents light, guidance, and spiritual awareness.
Ponderosa Pine has been used by the Nations in this area to aid in purification and the release of old energy. Pine is associated with wisdom, prosperity, eternal life, longevity, and endurance. It brings the energy of nature and grounded strength into the home.
Juniper symbolizes protection, health, and hope, often considered a “guardian” plant by the surrounding Nations because it thrives in harsh conditions. Known for intense purification, protection against negative forces, and enhancing love. It is associated with the Sun and fire, adding a layer of cleansing energy.
Many of the items were ceremoniously collected from the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest in Arizona, where my property resides. Other items were obtained through neighborly exchange in our rural off-grid community.
My Pima ancestors taught me the act of giving back to the earth in gratitude for all the ways in which it sustains us.
